Ostrovets Historical and Ethnographic Museum

The Ostrovets Historical and Ethnographic Museum was founded by the decision of the Ostrovets District Executive Committee No. 171 dated March 25, 2009.

On October 2, 2010, the grand opening of the exposition "The House of Kazimir Svoyak" took place in the village of Barani. The collected exhibits are typical for the Belarusian village of the first half of the 20th century, most of them are directly related to the life and work of Konstantin Stapovich and his family. A bed made up with a "perabiranny duvan" with snow-white lace at the bottom, a table covered with a handmade tablecloth, with a candle and a cross on it. Printed copies of the books "Maya Lira", "Voice of the Soul", "Dzeya May Thought ...", copies of documents and photographs of Kazimir Svoyak, his family and friends... Not far from the village is Lake Baranskoe, one of the chain of "Sorochansky Lakes", where you can swim , admire water lilies and waterfowl, relax your body and soul.

On March 5, 2021, the grand opening of a multifunctional complex for socio-cultural purposes and youth creativity took place, on the 1st floor of which there are exposition and exhibition areas of the museum. On February 02, 2023, the opening of a permanent museum exhibition dedicated to the history of the Ostrovets region took place. Over the years of the museum's existence, more than 4.5 thousand museum items have been collected and documented.
